Reliable Water Services Provider
How to tell if you need water services:
Knowing what is going on with your existing water service will help you to save money when it comes to water lines. A fast, professional response can make the difference in terms of price, repair versus replacement, and costly clean-ups. Each of the following may be an indicator of problems with your water lines:
Changes in water pressure.
A sharp drop in water pressure is nearly always a sign that your water line (or your water fixture) is damaged. To be sure it’s the line and not your appliance or faucet, test others in your home. If the loss of pressure is consistent throughout your home, the fault is almost certainly with the waterline.
Standing water
Water collecting in pools in your yard, or standing water forming along your home’s foundation is a big indication of a serious issue. If the water is clear and pest-free, the problem is probably with the waterline. If the water smells off, or you are getting a large number of common bugs and pests like flies and mosquitos, it could be your sewer line. But don’t worry, we can fix your issue no matter the source!
Discoloration of your water
A presence of rust or corrosion in your water will almost always indicate either a water heater problem or an issue with your supply, which most likely means corrosion in the water line pipes or damage that is allowing dirt and minerals into your water.
Spikes in your water bill
Has your water bill gone up by a large amount? Even small spikes in water bills are fairly uncommon, so when the numbers are racking up fast, you need to seek professional service immediately.
Give us a call and let us assess the situation, and then give you an estimate on the repair or replacement of your water lines.
Reliable Sewer Service Provider
How to tell if you need sewer services:
You may not know it, but you as a homeowner are responsible for the sewer line that runs from your house or business to the main sewer line. If there’s a problem with your line, you’re responsible for locating a plumber and getting the line fixed.
The following are some of the common issues with sewer lines:
• Broken, cracked, offset or collapsed pipe – damaged pipes due to shifting soil, frozen ground, settling, etc.
• Blockage – grease buildup or a foreign object is restricting or prohibiting proper flow and/or cleaning of the line.
• Corrosion – the pipe has deteriorated and/or broken, causing collapses in the line and restricting flow.
• Bellied pipe – a section of the pipe has sunk due to ground or soil conditions, creating a valley that collects paper and waste.
• Leaking joints – the seals between pipes have broken, allowing water to escape into the area surrounding the pipe.
• Root infiltration – tree or shrub roots have invaded the sewer line, preventing normal cleaning and/or have damaged
the line.
• Off-grade pipe – existing pipes are constructed of substandard material that may have deteriorated or corroded.
Whether it’s clearing your drains, or repairing or replacing your sewer lines, JED Plumbing & Gas can get the job done for you.
